Heads and Tales

As part of the final celebrational programme for the “Heads & Tales” mental health heritage project this exhibition will showcase works to celebrate the diverse and individual experiences of mental health conditions and the benefits of artistic expression. The show features over 50 invited artists alongsideHeads & Tales project's participants and volunteers. The work on show includes a wide range of mediums from paintings, sculptures, moving image, audio, performances, sketchbooks and a few reflections on items from the Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

I will be exhibiting one of my latest pieces of work, exploring how to reconnect to joy when living with mental ill health.

This exhibition features the some of the most innovative and exciting designer/makers working in craft and design practice today. These glass artists have all been members of the Design-Nation portfolio, producing work for trade, retail and commission. A true celebration of colour and form, this exhibition showcases a range of techniques, such as blown and fused glass, and features a wide variety of functional and decorative pieces. All works are for sale making this exhibition the perfect Christmas shopping destination.

Our opening, Not only decoration: on full volume offers works from 30 artists that speak up about important issues facing the world today, proving that jewelry can be more than just an aesthetic for the body. These members are artists and makers from all over the world through jewelry and objects that deals with social and environmental issues, they will also experience that jewelry doesn't have to be only a decorative object for the body. Jewelry can be an amplifier for those who wish to add their voices to important topics and to do so through their work.
