Now in its fifth year, Out of Sight, Out of Mind (OOSOOM) is an exhibition of artworks created in relation to peoples’ experiences of mental health issues. It is part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF).
I'm thrilled to have been granted a bursary to create new works especially for this exhibition exploring finding strength in reclaiming vulnerability.
Groups and individuals have made their work with a range of motivations, including personal expression, development of artistic practice, experiencing the therapeutic benefits of making, formal art therapy and political activism. Many have responded to this year’s SMHAF festival theme which is ‘reclaim’. Come and see Summerhall's expansive gallery spaces full of artworks which discuss, celebrate, reveal and highlight aspects of mental health.
